Design and Working Principle
The solar collector is designed on the roof of this domestic pressurized solar water heater. The storage tank is installed, together with three different supplementary heating facilities, at the ground level.
This equipment has altogether five main components, namely the storage tank, the solar collector, the circulating pump, the controller and the supplementary heating system. The storage tank is used for the storage of the heated water ready for domestic use. The solar collector absorbs solar energy to heat up water. Circulating pump draws the colder water from the lower part of the storage tank to the collector and circulates the water before sending it back to the storage tank. The controller ensures that the heated water in the collector reaches a certain temperature and then flows to the storage tank. The Supplementary heating system is used in case of insufficient solar energy. (Such as cloudy, rainy or winter days) This supplementary system is operated either by an electric heating element inside the storage tank, or a gas booster or heat pump outside the storage tank.

A solar pump station of this equipment integrates the circulation pump, controller and other parts and this integration creates a good appearance for the water heater.
